What you hear
Posts from the accounts you follow on X that are also on Frequo, plus any Frequo account you add with the +. It is your own list, so no two people hear the same Following.
How it picks posts
Following is part of Pro: pick the people you want to hear from the list of accounts on Frequo, free. On a paid plan, Frequo can also read the list of accounts you follow on X and keep the ones that are on Frequo: it checks up to 250 of your follows (500 on Max), synced again every 30 days.
Missing someone? Ask, and Frequo checks the account before it plays.
When the accounts you follow cover more than one topic, Following plays them in segments: 10 posts from one channel, then the next. Make segments 5 or 20 posts in the Tuner, or switch a channel off there.
Your follow list is used only for your own Following channel. Frequo does not read your timeline and never posts anything.
Who it is for
People who already chose who they want to hear on X, and want those accounts in their ears on the drive, the walk or at the gym.
How it behaves
Press play and it keeps going, one post after another. Each clip starts with the account's name, then the post, read word for word by a labelled AI voice. Nothing is summarized or rewritten.
- Skip moves on to the next post. Free has 8 skips a day, and Pro has no limit.
- Previous goes back one post. The lock screen and headset buttons can play, pause, skip and go back.
- A post is never cut off halfway. A post too long to read in full is left out instead.
- Links are not read out, other than a plain address like example.com, and pictures and videos are not described. The player shows the full post with a link to the original on X.
- Posts and their audio are deleted 24 hours after they were posted, and sooner if they are deleted or made private on X.
- When there is nothing new left, it says "You're caught up on Following. Here's Frequo Mix." and switches to Frequo Mix. Tune back in later for new posts.
The Tuner sets the speed, the pause between posts, an ambient bed under the voice, the voice itself and a sleep timer.
