FREQUO

Terms of Service

Effective: Draft, not yet in effect

Draft for review. This text describes how Frequo works today and is being reviewed by counsel before launch. Questions: legal@frequo.app.

These terms are an agreement between you and Frequo, a sole proprietorship operated by its founder in British Columbia, Canada ("we"), for using Frequo at frequo.app. By using Frequo you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. What Frequo is

Frequo reads public posts aloud using AI voices, grouped into channels. Posts are written by the people who posted them, not by us, and reading a post does not mean we agree with it or that its author endorses Frequo. Every clip is labelled as an AI voice and links to the original post. Frequo is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by X Corp.

2. Who can use it

You must be 16 or older and live in the United States. If you create an account, keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Listen safely

Do not handle your phone while driving. Set up Frequo before you set off and follow the law where you are.

4. Plans, renewal and cancelling

  • Free costs nothing and has limits, which are shown in the app and on Pricing.
  • Pro costs $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year, plus any sales tax. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you bought, until you cancel. We email a reminder before a yearly plan renews.
  • The free week is 7 days of Pro, once per account and device. It needs no card, is never charged, and ends by itself; afterwards you are on Free unless you choose a paid plan.
  • An invite month is a month of Pro we give when someone you invited makes a new account and listens on 3 different days. Both of you get one, up to 6 each. If you already pay, it comes as a credit on your next bill instead. Invite months have no cash value, cannot be sold or swapped, and we can withdraw them, or stop the invite offer, if links are misused (for example, inviting yourself). We tell you before we end the offer, and months already given stay.
  • Founding is a yearly Pro plan at $49.99 for the first 5,000 members. Its price stays the same for as long as you stay subscribed. If you cancel and return, you rejoin at the current price.
  • Cancel any time in Account, under Manage billing. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Monthly plans are not refunded for the month already started.
  • The first time you buy a yearly or Founding plan, you can have all of it back within 14 days: choose Get a full refund in Account. Pro ends when the refund is made, and a Founding place is not given back. If a yearly plan renewed and you meant to cancel, write to support@frequo.app within 7 days of the charge and we refund it. For anything else that went wrong with a charge, write to the same address.
  • If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

5. What is not allowed

  • Copying, recording, downloading or redistributing Frequo audio, or using it to build another service.
  • Scraping, automated access, or getting around limits, plans or security.
  • Filing false reports or using reports to harass someone.
  • Using Frequo to break the law or anyone's rights.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. You can appeal through the contact form.

6. Content and ownership

Posts belong to their authors. The Frequo app, name and design belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Frequo for your own listening. If you believe something on Frequo infringes your rights, write to legal@frequo.app; if you are read on Frequo, see For creators.

7. Changes and availability

Frequo depends on outside services, including X, and may change, pause a channel or stop. We will give reasonable notice of changes that matter, and if we stop offering Pro we will refund the unused part of your paid period.

8. Disclaimers and liability

Frequo is provided "as is". Posts can be wrong, out of date or offensive, and an AI voice can mispronounce things. Do not rely on Frequo for news you must act on without checking the original. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

9. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and the courts of Vancouver, British Columbia have jurisdiction, except as follows. If you live in the United States, you and we agree to resolve disputes by binding individual arbitration, not in a class action or class arbitration, except that either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court. Before starting a dispute, write to legal@frequo.app so we can try to settle it within 30 days.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app and, if you have an account, by email at least 30 days before the change applies. Continuing to use Frequo after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Contact

Frequo: legal@frequo.app for legal notices, support@frequo.app for everything else.
