Accessibility
Frequo should work for everyone who wants to listen. Here is where it stands.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across frequo.app and the Frequo player. We check our pages with an automated accessibility test, and by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader when screens change.
What works today
- Every post that is read aloud is also shown in full as text in the player, links included, so you can read instead of listen.
- The player's buttons have names screen readers announce, and the main controls work from a keyboard.
- Lock screen and headphone controls can play, pause and skip.
- Text can be enlarged with your browser or phone settings.
- Animations calm down or stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Sign-in works with an email code or with X, and error messages are announced.
Known limits
- Voices are AI-generated. Some names, numbers and abbreviations may be read in an unexpected way; the full text on screen is always the exact post.
- Pictures and videos inside posts are not described yet. The player marks a post that has a photo or video and links to the post on X.
- Pages from other companies we send you to, such as X sign-in and the payment page, follow their own accessibility standards.
